Biometric Data Policy

What we collect

If you consent, we capture one photo of your face — either from your device camera or a photo you upload. From that photo we derive cosmetic observations such as facial geometry (proportions and apparent face shape), visible surface texture and apparent tone characteristics. In most privacy laws, a facial image used this way is treated as biometric data, so we handle it under this dedicated policy.

Purpose

The photo is used for one purpose only: to personalize your Beauty DNA™ score and your product, style and treatment recommendations. We do not use it for identification, facial recognition, matching you against other people, advertising profiling, or inferring race, ethnicity, religion or health status.

Your Beauty DNA Match Score

The percentage shown on your preview is a personalization and match confidence score for recommendations. It is not a rating of your appearance, beauty or attractiveness, and it is never presented or sold as one.

Retention

Working default — pending final confirmation by BEAUTIER AI's founder and Canadian counsel:

• Raw photo: stored in a private, access-controlled bucket and deleted 30 days after capture, or immediately on your request.
• Derived analysis results (text observations and scores, no image): kept until you delete your account or ask us to remove them.

No sale, no sharing

We never sell your photo or derived facial data, and we never share it with advertisers, data brokers or other users. Analysis is performed transiently by our AI provider (currently the Lovable AI Gateway routing to Google Gemini), which is contractually prohibited from training on your data.

Consent and withdrawal

Consent is explicit, unticked by default, versioned, and required before any camera access is requested. You can withdraw it at any time from the Privacy Centre in your profile settings.

How to request deletion

Use Delete My Photo & Scan Data in the Privacy Centre. That removes the stored image immediately and flags the derived analysis for deletion. You may also delete your entire account there, or contact us via Privacy Requests.

Age restriction

You must be 18 or older to submit a photo. We do not knowingly collect facial data from minors.

Not a medical service

Photo analysis produces cosmetic, informational beauty guidance — including facial feature analysis — and is not a medical, dermatological or diagnostic assessment.
